It’s conker picking season!

As we are now well into conker picking season, please try to avoid letting your dog play with them and keep out of reach!

Did you know conkers contain a chemical called aesculin which is toxic to dogs when ingested.

Thankfully fatalities are very rare but always keep an eye out for symptoms if you think your dog may have played with a conker.

Symptoms normally occur within 6 hours and include:

  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhoea
  • Excessive drooling
  • Abnormal tiredness.
