Unfortunately we have seen many cases of dog attacks this week and they are on the rise overall. All dogs have the potential to do harm and it is important to know the dangerous dogs law.
Part of the dangerous dogs act sets out that owners must keep dogs under proper control, this law includes dogs causing someone to be afraid. Legal action may be taken against the dog’s owner.
Here are some very important things to remember:
– Never leave a child unattended with a dog (of any breed).
– Avoid approaching a dog you do not know or have the owners permission.
– Keep your dog on a lead and under control when in public.
– If you come across another dog on or off lead that concerns you, calmly leave the area.
We will be posting on our blog page over the next week with lots of more information regarding this topic.
