At The Natural Dog Food Company, we believe that what goes around your dog’s food matters just as much as what goes in it. That’s why we’ve invested in eco-friendly dog food packaging that is completely PFAS-free, sustainable, and made from carefully chosen natural materials.
What Are PFAS?
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of synthetic chemicals often called “forever chemicals” because they do not break down easily in the environment. They have been widely used in food packaging, textiles, and non-stick coatings to repel water and grease. However, PFAS have been linked to environmental pollution and potential health concerns, which is why we’ve made the commitment to keep them out of our packaging.
Why We Don’t Use PFAS
Many brands still rely on PFAS-based coatings to make bags resistant to moisture and oils, however we take a different approach. By excluding PFAS, we ensure that our packaging is safer for your dog, better for recycling, and kinder to the planet. This means when you choose our plastic-free dog food bags, you’re choosing packaging that’s both practical and environmentally responsible.
How Our Packaging Is Made
Our sustainable pet food packaging is designed with care from start to finish:
- Paper from renewable sources – responsibly harvested and biodegradable.
- Bleach-free and organic – reducing harmful by-products in production.
- Printed with water-based inks – safe, non-toxic and fully recyclable.
- Cellulose membrane lining made from potatoes – a natural alternative to plastic.
- Matt clay coating on the outside – giving durability without chemicals.
This thoughtful combination means our packaging is strong, functional, and kind to the planet – all without synthetic chemicals or plastics.
A Greener Future
Choosing eco-friendly dog food packaging is part of our wider commitment to sustainability. Every bag you pick up supports renewable resources, lowers chemical impact, and helps protect the environment for generations to come. Natural Dog Food Company has used only paper bags since it began and will continue to push for better practices.
